Re-engaging your Roller Door Motor

Step 1- Identify the (usually) red disengagement cord that hangs down from your motor. The photo displayed shows the disengagement cord, your motor will look something similar.010001 (W) Step 2- Pull down on the disengagement cord and release. Depending on the type of roller door motor you have you may or may not hear a click. Step 3- You should now be able to use your remote control to operate the door. If you can’t find the disengagement cord it has probably fallen off. If this does not fix the issue you may need further motor repairs. If you have a Merlin 430R system, this method will not work for you. You will need to manually push up the red lever that the string is connected to in order to engage the motor as this clutch assembly is not spring loaded.
