Disengaging your Tilt or Panel Door

Step 1. Locate the (usually) red disengagement cord that hangs down from the “motor shuttle”. The image displayed is a generic shuttle, yours may look similar to it. You will notice the clip the rope is tied to is pointing horizontally.panel or tilt door motor shuttle   Step 2. Pull down on the disengagement cord so the clip it is tied to faces down. This will indicate the motor is disengaged. Step 3. Pull the door up or down, it should now be disengaged and move freely. If you can not find the disengagement cord it has most likely fallen off. If you get a pair of pliers you should be able to pull the clip down into the disengaged position if needed.
