ATA – GDO-6 Battery Back-Up

Slim-Drive™ EasyRoller® Battery Back-Up

Allow 135mm minimum side-room from edge of door curtain.

NOTE: Read all instructions before proceeding with installation.

INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect power to the opener and disengage motor.
2. Remove timing cover and light diffuser.
3. Remove cable clamp and screw (Fig. 2). Retain cable clamp for later use.
4. Mount the Charger Board SBY-3 on base and secure with four (4) Taptite ‘P’ M4 x 8 screws.
5. Secure lower left corner with cable clamp holding brown transformer wires.
6. Feed 4-Wire Harness around timing assembly, through opening and plug into SBY-3 connector control board (Fig. 2).
7. Remove breakaway slot on timing cover.
8. Feed 2-wire battery harness through slot and replace timing coverand secure in place with screws.
9. Mount battery back up kit onto support chassis and secure right side screw first (charger board side).
10. Position 2-wire battery harness neatly and secure left side of battery kit with cable clamp.

Warning: After Step 11 the opener may become active (even when power is off). This is a result of a residual charge in the batteries. This will only occur if batteries still hold some charge.

11. Connect battery harness together (Fig. 3).
12. Reconnect power and re-engage the motor.

TESTING BATTERY BACK UP
1. Press either OSC button or transmitter to test the opener.
2. Whilst door is in motion disconnect mains power.

When mains power is cut, battery back up should respond to the shut down. The door should continue to operate as normal.

Note: Wait for the door to complete its travel.
3. Press OSC or transmitter to activate the door.
4. Whilst door is in motion re-connect power. The door should complete the cycle as normal.

TROUBLE SHOOTING
If door stops or moves very slowly under battery power:
– Batteries may be weak or have no charge – connect power and allow to charge.
– Batteries may take 24 – 48 hours to reach maximum charge capacity
