Smart Features Designed for Everyday Convenience
The SecuraLift can be operated using a handheld transmitter, wall-mounted transmitter or optional wall switch. During an opening or closing cycle, another press stops the door, while the next activation moves it in the opposite direction.
Key features include:
- Hopping Code security, generating a new security code with every transmission from more than 4.29 billion possible combinations.
- Automatic Limits Positioning System (ALPS), which electronically calculates and stores the door’s travel limits instead of relying on mechanical limit switches and cams.
- Intelligent Safety Obstruction System (ISS), designed to reverse the door when an obstruction is encountered while closing and stop it if restricted while opening.
- Storage for up to 23 different transmitters, allowing multiple compatible controls to be programmed.
- Automatic courtesy lighting, which activates with door operation and can also be controlled separately.
- Vacation Mode, which can lock out other programmed transmitters during extended periods of non-use.
- Pet/Pedestrian Mode, allowing the door to open to a programmable partial height for pedestrian or pet access.
Installation and Safety Are Essential
Before installation, the garage door must be well balanced, smooth to operate and free from sticking or binding. The manual advises that damaged or poorly operating doors should be repaired by a qualified garage door installer, particularly because springs, cables and other hardware can be under extreme tension.
The GDO-2 can be configured for:
- Sectional doors with tracks
- One-piece doors with tracks
- One-piece spring-loaded doors without tracks
Installation instructions cover tube and chain assembly, secure structural mounting, door brackets and operating arms, travel-limit programming and safety obstruction-force setup.
The manual also recommends regular testing of the safety obstruction system using a 40 mm-high object beneath the door. If the door fails to reverse correctly while closing, operation should be discontinued until the fault has been repaired and the system retested.
Programming, Auto-Close and Additional Controls
Travel limits can be programmed either through the opener’s control panel or a compatible transmitter. Once the limits are stored, the opener automatically performs a close-and-open cycle to calculate the ISS safety obstruction forces.
The manual also provides instructions for coding transmitters for door operation, courtesy lighting, Pet/Pedestrian Mode and Vacation Mode. Auto-Close Mode requires a correctly installed Photo Electric Beam, providing an additional safety measure for automatic closing.
