J70 and J90

Identify the complete J-Type fitting before selecting a part

J-Type tilt-door systems include different fitting assemblies and component combinations. J70 and J90 parts are not automatically interchangeable.

Earlier AGG references included:

  • J70 and J90 spring hook and catch packs;
  • J90 spring catches;
  • J70/J90 hook and nut sets;
  • selected dual-spring W-hooks;
  • external keyed manual-release assemblies; and
  • tilt-door lock assemblies.

These names support identification only. They do not confirm current stock or suitability for a particular door. The image shows a tilt-door type generally, not a J-Type fitting diagram.

Identification and Safety

Photograph both fitting assemblies

Provide clear photographs of both complete fitting assemblies, any stamped or printed model details, the existing hooks, catches and locks, and the door and opener type.

Do not:

  • stretch, unhook or restrain a spring;
  • loosen catches, brackets or loaded hardware;
  • assume a universal outside release or lock will fit;
  • substitute J70 and J90 parts without confirmation; or
  • use an old listing as proof of current availability.

J-Type springs, catches, brackets and loaded fittings require professional assessment and installation.
