The ATA GDO-6 V1 Slim-Drive EasyRoller is designed for vertical-operating continuous-curtain roll-up garage doors. Combining remote operation, electronic travel-limit positioning and programmable safety features, it provides convenient everyday access while giving users greater control over how their garage door operates.

Smart Features for Secure, Convenient Garage Access

The GDO-6 V1 can be controlled using a handheld transmitter, wall-mounted transmitter or optional wall switch. The door can be stopped during either opening or closing, with the next activation moving it in the opposite direction.

Key features include:

  • Hopping Code security, generating a new code with each transmission from more than 4.29 billion possible combinations.
  • Automatic Limits Positioning System (ALPS), which calculates and stores door travel limits electronically.
  • Intelligent Safety Obstruction System (ISS), designed to reverse the door when obstructed while closing and stop it when restricted during opening.
  • Storage for up to 23 remote transmitters.
  • Automatic courtesy lighting with an adjustable operating time.
  • Optional Battery Backup, particularly useful where the garage door is the only entrance or power interruptions are common.
  • Vacation Mode, which can temporarily lock out other stored transmitters.
  • Pet/Pedestrian Mode, providing an adjustable partial opening for pedestrian or pet access.

Installation and Safety Setup Matter

Before installation, the garage door must be properly balanced, operate smoothly and move without sticking or binding. The manual specifies at least 40 mm of side room between the door curtain and inside of the bracket, with 95 mm recommended for easier access.

The guide also stresses several important safety requirements:

  • Remove or disable existing locks and unnecessary mechanisms before installation.
  • Regularly inspect springs, cables and mountings for wear, damage or imbalance.
  • Connect the opener to a properly earthed 240V mains outlet.
  • Keep children, vehicles and other obstructions clear while the door is operating.
  • Leave repairs involving tensioned door hardware to appropriately experienced personnel.

The Safety Obstruction Force is calculated automatically during setup. Testing includes placing an approximately 50 mm-high timber object beneath the closing door; the door should contact the object and reopen. If the safety test fails, the manual instructs users to discontinue automatic operation and arrange service.

Remotes, Auto-Close and Troubleshooting

Transmitters can be programmed for standard door operation as well as courtesy lighting, Pet/Pedestrian Mode and Vacation Mode. The manual also explains how to remotely add another transmitter, delete individual codes or clear all stored transmitter codes.

The opener supports Auto-Close Mode, but a correctly installed Photo Electric Beam is compulsory before this feature can be used. The manual recommends positioning the beam approximately 150 mm above floor level and keeping the doorway clear whenever Auto-Close is active.

Troubleshooting guidance covers common issues including failure to operate, unexpected reversing, incomplete travel, remote-control problems, courtesy-light faults and Auto-Close failures. It also notes that failure to maintain the garage door may affect the opener warranty.
